Lauren Conrad’s Best Summer Ever

OVERVIEW

On July 3rd, 2014 we received an unassuming call from Connecticut-based agency, Match. Their goal was rather straightforward; produce web content for Malibu Rum with brand ambassador, Lauren Conrad. The timeline however, was far less simple. Our team had less than 48 hours to secure/scout a location, crew up and nail down all of those seemingly endless details that production comes with to shoot on July 5th. The icing on the cake? We only had Lauren for 3 hours.

APPROACH

After multiple hotel room scouts on South Beach, we decided to rent out the biggest suite the W Hotel had. With a mere three hours of shooting time, we ran 4 Red Epic cameras and a 35-man crew that seemed to flow like a flawlessly choreographed ballet. Unbeknownst to the viewer, there was a storm of epic proportions raging outside of the giant windows, which surrounded our set.  Thank goodness for big, powerful lights and a savvy DP. Three hours later, we completed all 6 of the deliverables. Happy client. Happy talent. Happy team.

Post came with its own level of chaos as well. As is with most deliverables in the Ad world, the client needed all 6 videos finalized within a week of wrap. With minutes to spare, we completed all deliverables a day early.

RESULTS

Both Pernot Ricard and Match (agency & client) made their glowing affection for the team at Artex well known. The videos attracted millions of social media engagements and exceptionally positive reviews. We have now become the go-to vendor for Match Drive.
